Why prices vary

The final amount depends on the vehicle, job complexity, parts, fluids, diagnostic time, travel, access and whether additional faults are discovered. European, hybrid, luxury and heavily modified vehicles may require different equipment or parts.

Common pricing components

• Call-out or travel component where applicable
• Inspection or diagnostic time
• Labour for the approved repair
• Parts, fluids and consumables
• Additional testing if the first symptom has multiple causes
• Taxes and any disposal charges where applicable

Cheapest is not always lowest total cost

A very low headline price may exclude parts, travel or diagnostic time. Comparing written scope, parts quality, record keeping and what happens if the symptom remains is more useful than comparing one number.

• Will extra work be approved first?
